Intro

The following documentation explains the core parts of the Glimr mobile SDK. Feel free to contact us if anything is unclear beyond the documentation.

For publishers, Glimr offers crowdsourced IP intelligence to improve geo-targeting efforts within advertising.

Collect

Gps and ip/network data via native mobile and web SDKs with dedicated dataset per customer.

Transform

From the raw events Glimr creates a unique GeoIP library based on data crowdsourced from users and the geographical construction of your country (county, municipality, city….). An algorithm based on e.g. unique devices, time of day and traffic volume helps decide a quality score per IP. This also enables scalability to additional IP range blocks.

Enrich

Glimr enriches each and every request (page-view) on your sites with location data to the best known circumstances achieving quality/reach ratios way above traditional ip databases. Glimr geo data can be leveraged on all sites and all devices (mobile web, desktop and app).
The most common setup is using key/value targeting in your ad serving setup. Many of our customers use e.g. Xandr as their ad serving platform.

Ex. we respond with a json payload from the SDKs:

{"tags":["glcountry_us","glwe_mostly_cloudy","glwet_20", "glng_en","glr_nevada","glm_elko","glc_elko"]

What sets us apart from other providers is that we use crowdsourcing. We build our customers’ own GeoIP database with the help of their own users and with gps accuracy.

In a world of stricter privacy regulations, what we offer can be regarded as your own 1st-party data.

  • Crowdsourced dataset based on customer user base
  • High accuracy geo data that is continuously updated
  • Real-time geo targeting and additional data layers like weather etc.
  • 1st-party data (the publisher owns the data)
  • Stable and scalable infrastructure
  • Quick support and strong relationships
  • Easy integration with lightweight native mobile and web SDKs
